Recognize the situation? You are looking for bread when all the bakeries and shops are closed? And most probably on a Sunday evening...
Dondify.com enables you to locate bread vending machines including their current stock. You can search 'Bread' as tag here. If you click on the icon you can see the live content (updated every 5 minutes).
... or cat. In fact you can track any animal and see where it is or has been. You could even create a geofence and get notified when he/she leaves or enters the geofence. You might want to know if your dog takes off or if a GPS-tagged wolf enters your farm. OK, thoughts went wild for a moment but you get the picture.
Holiday tip Some people might also be interested in knowing where their pet is when they go on holiday. Whether you leave your pet at home or take it with you, it's always nice to know where he/she is.
For the record: this is no longer a future case. You can search 'Buddy' as tag here.
Buddy received a tk-909 tracker and he wasn't complaining. We started our walk and we received a first text message (SMS) as soon as we left the geofence 'Home sweet home'. We had also enabled the tracing (or the history) so we could see where Buddy was. We also received a second text message (SMS) when we reached the end of our walk as we had this configured in Dondify.
Contact me if you are interested in knowing where your pet is.
This use case is the most famous one. Track 'n' trace your car or truck. Create a geofence and get notified when your truck is about to arrive so you can act promptly. Create a trail (or history) so you can see where your employees went during the weekend with the company car (be sure to double check any privacy laws).
For the record: this is a (hopefully near) future case.
More and more cities provide city bikes to tourists. Bike rental (or even sometimes completely free) is becoming more and more popular. Urban bicycle tourism or city bike adventures get more attention. In some cities you can simply take a bicycle in one place and leave it in another place. Managing this and thus knowing where all the bikes are is a must. You could even set a geofence around the city so that you get notified when a bike leaves the city.
For the record: this is a (hopefully near) future case.
During my search for addressless objects I thought of planes as they are traceable objects without an address (much like cars or trucks but then up in the air - preferably most of the time).
Now since I jump on a Ryanair plane once in a while (for a men-only weekend) I thought of adding their planes. You can search 'Plane' as tag here.
I found OpenSky Network to be an easy integrator with their live API. I basically call their API once in a while and I keep some meta data like the country, velocity and altitude which is then displayed in a pop-up.
I have moved a few times during the last couple of years. Whenever I arrive in a new town I have a hard time finding the public recycling bins.
Since these don't have an official address (and might change location once in a while) I thought of adding them as well.
In short: I have received all public glass waste bins from IMOG. I just had to import the data and that was it. Thank you, IMOG!
You can search 'Glas' as tag here.
Corona made us enjoy walking. However, if nature calls, finding a public toilet can be quite a challenge.
I have found public toilets here. I just had to import the data and that was it.
You can search 'public toilet' as tag here.

PS: The names have been changed.
Install the Traccar Client on your mobile phone: https://www.traccar.org/client/.
After installation, change the Server URL (see screenshot below) to "http://www.dondify.com:18082" (just copy/paste the complete URL incl. the number).
Also remember the Device identifier that the Traccar Client is displaying; you'll need that number when creating your personal object.
Don't forget to move the slider to the right so that Traccar starts tracking!
Go to Dondify.com and sign in. Create an account if you didn't have one already.
Create a new public tag and name it e.g. "Night out" or "The Hangover Part IV".
You can change the icon afterwards like in the screenshot above.
Create a new public object and select the newly created tag. Select 'Dondify' as Update method and fill in the Device identifier (see step 1).
If you repeat step 1 and 4 for all party people and you give each object your individual names, then you'll be able to track everybody (that is, if your phone battery doesn't give up on you).
